Very difficult. You have to drive around a hill with a hair-pin bend to get to the back door. Not suitable for large vans. I had to unhook my trailer to turn around at the bottom as space is very limited. Getting out of the place is worse. I had to dig away a layer of gravel to get a grip as it was flying up in the air!!
Once the room has been cleared the fire-escape doors are opened for access. This is straight from the rear parking area. Equipment can get wet while waiting!!
Just 20 feet from the way-in. No stage.
Access is around the back of the building on a gravel track which turns down a hairpin bend that has with a very steep slope. There are no lights in that area. Room enough for one car to turn around at the bottom. Trailers will have to be unhooked to turn around.
Ideal. Straight into the suite through the fire-exit doors.
The have a permanent starlit white cloth on the back wall. A dancefloor is placed down in the centre of the room. It is a small room.
Fairly relaxed and helpful.
You can park at the side of the building close to the external stairs.
All equipment needs to be carried up 2 large flights of external stairs. There is nowhere to store equipment prior to gaining access to the Great Hall because you enter the room directly from the top of the stairs. So if raining your gear could get wet sitting at the top of the stairs. The staff might let you put some smaller items in the reception (a very small cabin halfway up the stairs).
The performance area is not very wide because there is a door on either side of you that still needs to be kept clear. Maximum 8 foot available. There are 2 plug sockets on either side of each door so that is ok.
Staff are very helpful and welcoming.
A very busy hotel with limited parking. You have to unload at the side of the function room on double yellow lines and move vehicle.
All equipment needs to be stored in the bar area pending room turn around. Access to the bar is from the car-park at the side of the function room. It is easy to get gear to set-up area as it on the side wall as you enter the room.
The stage area is 4ft above the dancefloor. Steps on either side lead down to the dancefloor. Height is limited to about 9ft. - width available: 3-4m - height clearance: 3-4m
All happy staff.
Unloading can be done at front of building. You can then park on grounds once done. There is plenty of free on-site parking spaces.
No lift access. Everything has to be carried up large flight of curving stairs. Then gear needs to be taken to back of room.
Perfect amount of space. 12ft by 3ft (approx). No height restrictions. nIt is on a back-wall right in-front of the dancefloor area. n - width available: 3-4m - height clearance: over 4m
A happy bunch of staff.
Parking round back in Goods delivery area
A long distance. Up 2 floors in a service lift and then about 120ft walk to room.
Large area in front of a dancefloor - width available: 4-5m - height clearance: 3-4m
Staff are very helpful.
You can get close to the loading in door. But have to move vehicle into the car-park once unloaded.
Straight in through a fire door to dance area. 30 feet distance maximum.
Plenty of space and plug sockets.
No issues
Free car park just 100 yards away.
Excellent location. Can drive right up to side fire door to unload.
Very large set-up area. No stage. Plenty of sockets.
Great to work with.
You have to park around the back of the building at the goods entrance on double yellow lines. Not had any problems leaving vehicle there after 6:30pm.
While the room is on the ground-floor... you have to access it from the basement via a lift (or stairs). There is no storage area. So everything has to be stored in the lift or in the basement until the room is ready.
Ideal. Lots of room. Set-up at back of room in-front of dance-floor. - width available: at least 5m - height clearance: over 4m
Run like a ship.
Ok.
Ideal. Typical Marquee.
A small stage in the corner of the room. Very low ceiling at rear due to hanging drapes.
Plenty of parking.
You have to temporarily park outside the entrance while you unload. All gear has to be taken through a walled gate with limited width of under 3ft. All gear has to be stored outside the building as access is from the fire escape doors. This is about 60ft away from the walled gate. Luckily the roof overhangs this area so your gear wont get wet. But it will freeze if snowing!
Back wall in-front of the dancefloor. Just 20ft from doors. - width available: 4-5m - height clearance: 3-4m
Super staff.
You will have to double park on the road out side. You may get lucky and find a space nearby for parking car after unloaded... but there are other pay and display streets in the area if all taken near venue.
Terrible. They have two function suites. Both are underground via very slow and very small lift. It can taken an age to get in and out.
Suite has a temporary stage.
No issues
Underground car park
Parking is very far away from lift to roof!! Lift takes ages to get to roof. No indoor storage area for gear once on roof. All gear could get wet out side the portacabin.
Small corner of a portacabin. Limited space. Floor rocks as is flimsy so watch kids don't run around and cake as it will topple. (Seen it happen)
No issues
There are two parking spaces next to the venue - but they are only available after 6:30pm. Other than that you have to pay for parking in one of the nearby one-ways streets.
Easy. Take all gear to back of room (about 100ft)
The have an in-house PA system. 2 KV tops and subs. So you do not need to take your own.
Great staff. Always look after you.
There is parking after 6:30pm midweek on the same side of the road. There is also one space opposite where you can leave you vehicle anytime. Sometime the spaces can be taken. In which case you have to leave your vehicle up a neighbouring street.
No stairs. Just straight in and walk 100 ft to the back of the room.
There is an in-house PA system. Two really good tops and bass-bins. You can set-up on their table to move it to place you own in position.
Great staff. Always happy and good to work with.
